Having humbly taken over Yolo County Eviction Services (YCES) from its founders Harold and Kathy Ford, Keith continues their tradition of reliable landlord representation. From the simple 3-day pay or quit notice to complex evictions trials, Keith will work hard to get you your property back. Keith's background as both a landlord attorney and a tenant attorney give him strong insights into both sides of the argument. Keith will give you direct advice and a solid plan on how to best get you what you want.
As a local attorney who practices regularly in Yolo county, Keith knows how Yolo judges approach eviction cases. Keith knows which judges prefer mediated agreements and what the court expects before bringing your case to trial.
Having represented a multitude of landlords in recovering their property, Keith is very comfortable litigating cases. From strong arguments to well-documented evidence, Keith knows what you will need to stand the best chance of winning at your trial.
Keith also has experience on the other side of the bench. As an Administrative Hearing Officer for the Institute for Administrative Justice in Sacramento, Keith presided over numerous mental health and parking ticket appeals and learned what judges look for in cases they are hearing.
Finally, Keith knows that a fight is not always the best option to success. Sadly, no attorney can ever guarantee how a judge may or may not rule on your case. Sometimes, if this is the case, a less aggressive method might be your best option. As a trained and certified mediator, Keith has successfully resolved a number of very contentious eviction cases in such a way that both the owner and the tenant were happy. Keith will always be frank in his discussions with you as to your case and make sure you have a good understanding of all options available.
A native of Davis, California, Keith Banks received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Sonoma State University before earning his Masters degree in History from the University of California, Davis and a Juris Doctorate with Distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While in law school, Keith provided research for numerous professors, competed as a member of the nationally ranked Moot Court team, served as the vice-president of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, and received a scholarship from the Sacramento Estate Planning Council. Upon graduation, Keith earned concentration certificates in business, tax, and international law and was also awarded the Capital Commendation for Public Service in recognition of his dedication to pro-bono service.
When not in his office, Keith can be found hiking or practicing photography in the hills and trails of Northern California with his wife Amanda and their headstrong husky-malamute, Talia.
